1. Security

1.1. Strong Passwords

Anywhere and everywhere you use a password, try to use at least 20 characters. At this length, you can use a memorable phrase with a few symbols and numbers thrown in. Or use a password manager. This will make it easier to have a unique, strong password for every place you need it.

How Secure is Your Password?

Check your password here to see how weak or strong it is. There are some great resources further down the page

Password Manager

LastPass is a great password manager. They even have a free password generator if you do want one of those long alphanumeric gibberish passwords, https://www.lastpass.com/features/password-generator-a

1.2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Recommendation

Relying on just usernames and passwords is not strong enough to secure your online accounts. Data breaches occur daily, and hackers are always inventing new ways to take over your accounts. Protect yourself by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This blocks anyone using your stolen username and password by verifying your identity through a 2nd step, your 2FA code found on your phone. Enable 2FA now to protect your accounts online.

We recommend using Authy. Install the app on your phone and take the first step in beefing up your security profile.

Using keywords simplifies sizing for mobile devices which have set limited font-sizes. Most modern browsers reproduce a very similar keyword size cross-browser. IEv6- gives the biggest size discrepancy but personally I considered that acceptable.

For accessibility reasons I suggest the minimum body content font-size to be Arial, Verdana or Helvetica at 75% / 0.75em / 12px / 9pt. With a decent amount of line height 140% - 150%.

If you are using very small fonts, 10px or less, I advise using Verdana as it's actually designed to work at small sizes. At larger sizes Arial appears to be clearer.

There is a common practice where the body element is set to 62.5% which has the effect of equating (sort of) em to px. For example: 1em = 10px; 0.8em = 8px, and 2.5em = 25px.

7.2. Domain Contact info Verification Process - You MUST Do

According to the regulations introduced by Internet Corporation of Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) starting from January 1, 2014, Whois verification emails will be sent. Whois verification will only be needed for the Registrant contact information for generic TLDs in the following cases:

  • for new registrations;
  • for registrant contact information changes on existing domains.

When a new domain is registered, an email will immediately be sent to the Registrant email address specified for the domain. The verification email will be also sent if an edit is made to either of the following Registrant contact fields:

  • Registrant First Name
  • Registrant Last name
  • Registrant Email Address

If the Registrant email is changed, the email will be sent to the new email address specified.

You must verify the email address by clicking on the link within 15 calendar days after registration. If you do not verify it within 15 calendar days, the domain will be suspended.  The domain will then be updated to point to a new landing page stating that the domain has been suspended due to a pending ICANN verification.

Krack Media's primary domain registrar is NameCheap.com on the ENOM platform. If you'd like to learn more from NameCheap and how they handle this process, please read about it at ICANN's Whois verification process.
